We are striving to be the ultimate resource for independent bands and musicians.
Musicians run into many road blocks trying to further their careers. Problems such as finding recording studios and audio engineers, getting t-shirts, stickers, and other marketing related items made, finding venues to play at, etc. The list goes on.
We're trying to make it easier to find all this information and give musicians a place to discuss these issues.
To the left you'll find general categories that break out into more specific business/service types. Click on a type to get a list of businesses and then click on an individual business to get more information.
Compare and choose businesses you'd like to work with by visiting individual websites, emailing, calling, or visiting in person. Then, let us know how it went by giving the business a rating and dropping a comment. You can also get more information and help others by posting in the forums.
One of the biggest ways you can help other independent musicians is to create entries for businesses that are not in our database. Once you have signed up as a Screw Labels user, you can enter in new businesses. These entries will be double checked by a Screw Labels employee and, if everything seems legit, will soon show up on the site.
We're keeping track of how many businesses each user gets accepted onto the site and will be announcing rewards for top uploaders (more on this in the coming weeks).
We're a small team at this point but we are really striving to make Screw Labels a useful tool. Let us know what we could be doing better in the feedback section of the forums or send an email to feedback@screwlabels.com.
Yeah, the name's a little strong. There are certainly some actions of labels that we strongly disagree with (mostly from larger labels) but the name is a bit tongue in cheek. Our focus is to give musicians the tools they need to run their careers. If you have the opportunity to be signed to a label, we want you to be able to make that decision because it will truly assist you, not because it's the only way. If you do decide to sign with a label, we hope you'll be able to work a better deal because of the tools Screw Labels provides.
